The Grace Of Forgiveness

2 CORINTHIANS 2:5-11

Forgiveness is a grace gift which is essential to the spiritual health of God's people.

1. Individually, forgiveness is essential for the spiritual health of the sinner who repents. (v. 5-8)
- 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 & 12-13 / The back story
- Matthew 18:15-17 / Jesus' teaching on dealing with sin in the church.

2. Corporately, forgiveness is essential for the spiritual health of the church that is sinned against. (v. 9-11)
- 2 Satanic dangers:
(1) Moral laxity
(2) Harsh self-righteousness
