2 Corinthians 13:1-10

 

1. The Corporate Dimension: The church's responsibility to examine the faith of church members. (v. 1-4)

- Matthew 18:15-17

- Sins that call for church discipline:

1_Scandalous sin (1 Corinthians 5:9-11)

2_Sins that compromise doctrinal purity (1 Timothy 1:18-26)

3_Church unity sins (Titus 3:10)

 

2. The Individual Dimension: The church member's responsibility to examine their own lives. (v. 5-10)

- Tests that reveal eternal life:

1_Obedience test (1 John 2:3-6)

2_Relational test (1 John 3:14-15)

3_Spirit test (1 John 4:13)
